Again Kris I feel you pulling this right out my life. So many times I am thankful that I grew up a impoverished kid in a trailer that lived on less than people thought a family of 4 could survive on.

My brother had a home economics class that where the teacher made them fill out a “family budget.” They wanted to see how they could deal with house expenses and money management. He filled it out like my Mom told him we lived and the teacher did not believe what he put down.

I see now those years of not having any free money and rough times as giving me grit. I always said that if I would raise my kids in poverty to give them the same grit if I ever had kids and was well off. It sucked when I was in it and I have no doubt some of the health issues were made worse from the experience, but the grit it gave me makes me able to make it though the day now.
