The lies that we tell ourselves to get through bad times are not deceptions at all. Rather, they are manifestations of what we feel and need to sense to get through whatever the hardship that we are facing. Lies don’t inspire us to do better and improve ourselves.

Optimism is a form of a lie, but often it can be the thing that helps us to get past all our obstacles we face. So, optimism is not the destructive thing that a lot of lies prove to be. I’ve told myself, family, my significant other, and friends lies that were optimistic. Do I see those falsehoods as a bad thing?

Not really. How can I lie and not feel bad when I am often too truthful with everyone? Simple, lies in the want and characterization of optimism are a good thing,

I am not saying to get carried away and max out a credit card or take out loans because you KNOW you are going to win the lottery!

That’s a case of misguided belligerent optimism, and I don’t tolerate.

Optimism is a tool of hope that we can do amazing things if given chance.
