Kids that face the trauma of poverty, health conditions, racism, sexism, school shootings, alcoholic or drug abusing parents, and being LGBTQIA are SO mature. Yes, I realize they would give anything to not face the traumas they live, yet darn if they are not crazy mature about life. From observing interviews with kids that face all kinds of trauma are so put together.

I know it is mostly a survival instinct and there is another side of maturity coin with crazy not mature mentally ill kids. Yet, I would like to recognize the mature ones here. The police, prosecutors, judges, and all levels of the criminal justice system see too much of the not mature kids.

I see the people thinking I am crazy or myopic with regionalizing the good mature ones. But being one of the more mature trauma victims, I’d like to give props to the others.

Yes, I recognize that I was lucky and continue to be in so many more than others are not, but I got my scars.

You’ve seen plenty here. From my often-insecure lack of self to my tendency to overdo and over think everything.

I am just a product of trauma and luck in my time here.
