Diabetic Cyborg Life 05/21: Over a Thousand Views & I get 22 cents?

Some Android app sent a load of traffic to my Vladimir the Terrible Putin blog from March 23rd. A lifetime of over a thousand views and 873 reads, and I get 22 cents. A glut of traffic for a nice timeless history based Russian story of the terribleness of Vladimir the Terrible Putin.

Minimal gain of not even a penny a read would’ve been nice. I got it a month after I posted it and it was only read for less than 2 minutes on average. Yet, I can’t help but think some of those thousand might’ve gotten Medium a little more than 22 cents of traffic.

I know, “that’s not how Medium works” and “at least you got something.” True, and I hope some stuck around and read more of my blogs.

Though, I really hoped that over a thousand views might benefit a little more than, less than, a quarter.

I get the payment structure and the whole idea that Medium is using, but could you make the painful reality a less obvious?
