These last few days of stress, marriage, hospital, travel, and interactions along the way have combined to renew my sense of hope. The fight with my housemate and all that ruckus could leave me with despair, yet it’s done the opposite. From the witness that aided a total stranger that might well deserve the cruelty, though, she assured me that she knew instantly that possibility was not so.

She read my body language and knew I was not an aggressor or antagonist. I was being attacked and she wanted to help me, so she did. I thank her for the simple act of caring when she read wrong.

This plus the hospital stay where so many touched my life and helped me by simply doing their jobs. Then, there are the many rideshares and got their tips for again just doing a job they elected to do for extra money to live on. All these people and workers had one thing in common.

That was the insight that we must keep going in our lives and always, always have hope that we can make the day and come back for more tomorrow.
