… As I stated, I am not a phenomenon here on Medium, I’m only here for my mind and the community I’ve come to love. I marvel at the fact I have almost six thousand followers. I remember being thankful when I had 50 followers on Medium.

The gurus can tell you how to game the Medium Partners Program to maximize profits, but I’m not here for that. I am here to encourage you to pour out your heart and soul and leave it all in the blog. I guess my love for sport and idioms comes out when I try to be encouraging to others.

I grew up the hardest of hardcore Michael Jordan and Chicago Bulls fan. I paused that fandom when I retired in 1993 and came back when he did in 1995. You might’ve never guessed that beyond my sneaker fetish if you read my blogs here and elsewhere.

The Diabetic Cyborg was once the Sneaker Wonk, I took that name because I was a nerd and I love sneakers. Now, I might get a pair for my birthday or Christmas, but that’s about it. Anyway, writing here is habit and necessary for me to function now.

I never would’ve healed the hurts of my mom’s death, my diseases, or anything else without this blog.

I don’t mean for you to make this a part of your life like that, like I have, but it is here if you are willing.

I know good and well that there are other platforms and communities on the internet, but I’ve come to know and love so many here.

I think I will stay a while longer until it eventually dies as all good internet communities do.
