… We get ready for the midterm elections in the new year as democracy hangs in the balance. We have never, and hopefully will never, face this type of neofascist threat as we do with the modern GOP. The stir of Trump brought the Republicans and their followers to attention under their violent and racist philosophies.
The GOP long been the party of the wars on drugs, minorities, immigration, and so many other ideas of a liberal democracy. They are really a skim milk version of today’s extreme right ideas. Their willingness to govern with Democrats and do some bipartisan legislation shows their “weakness” as most extreme right ideology would see it.
Add their hate for the environment to that bipartisan weakness, the European sect of conservatives, much less the extreme right, would see the GOP as the cowards they are. European conservatives see their home’s environment as something to protect, where the GOP does not.
The Republicans can’t even be “conservatives” in the view of non-Americans.
The GOP is willing to run up huge tax debts if it saves billionaires a few bucks in taxes as the Trump era tax cuts show.
