The emotional roller-coaster that is this time of year is turned to 11, as we are dealing with our first one without our family’s matriarch. With family issues and high tension this season, I can’t help but consider the point that Mom taught us. Hope and love are the point of living and existence here.

Hope is the thing that drives us, binds us, and makes us all believe that life is worth living. For without hope, we have no reason to keep trying and going. To keep fumbling around this often dark and sadistic existence called life.

The point of all this is to live and hope and love again and again. Family, friends, friends and family, not the long-distance calling plan, sorry for the 90’s pun, but the people we assemble around us are why we are here.

As, loving and being with friends and family is why we live, work, get an education, and keep living.

Life with friends, and family that are close friends, is what this family mom made represents and always was.

A bit of mom is in her children and she might be gone, but we are alive and well.
