Diabetic Cyborg Life 12/31: New Year’s Eve 2022

The dawn of a new year is perhaps the most alluring thing that anyone trying to improve oneself could have to face. Whether you’re in need of improving, or “set,” it seems everyone is trying to make or improve come every new year. I can remember during my gym days when every new year saw the usual new year’s resolution goers that fizzled out by March.

It always seemed that when the weather got hot, the resolutioners got not so hot for their gym memberships. The few times I joined a gym it was usually during the summer when I wanted to play basketball, or the heat was too oppressive to be outside. I had times when I played basketball at a park or walked around the neighborhood as I do now.

New year’s was never my chosen time to start much of anything beyond eating traditional and habitual new year’s treats and eats.

Little cocktail substages, chips and dips, and other random season junk food were always my favorites.

Now I am happy to be able to indulge in a few or a bite of this or that, but nothing as before diabetes.

I just pray that no family members or friends have wicked turns for the worst.

Good riddance to 2021!
