Doing a TED Talk about my life has been a thought of mine, so here it goes:
Topic: The Process Defines Me Pt.3
This talk was not a TED Talk in structure or substance, as I just wanted to show a way we can cope now and say thanks to my readers. Realise what you can do to make change in a positive way and do it when possible. Do not overthink your actions and live as present as possible.
The only gripe I have with the Trevor Moawad book on his method of neutral thinking was his need to block out all “negative influences.” He saw cable news as all negative and slanted noise the must be ignored. I see it as we define how we take in the facts we hear. I do the same with social media as I see and contact posts also.
If we go into the sources with the idea, “this is all negative junk and will depress me.” Then, is will do exactly that and depress us. Cable news must be source checked and all stories verified, as all news must be these days.
The benefit of shows like Rachel Maddow is she usually pulls from well vetted sources. Then, all we must do is see if that is how they reported it. Plus, Moawad see bad in the any music that speaks of negativity. I find the music of that ilk to be mostly therapeutic. Results will vary as all with everyone, as all medications do.
