As you all know, and I’ve gone over here, celebrating anything sans my recently passed mother is a struggle for us as a family and individuals. So, I take this extra blog to cover what we are doing in the absence of our great matriarch. As we did when her mother passed in 31 years ago, Allah I am old, we still celebrated and had a measure of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.

Mail order turkey dinner and fixings are the chosen path now in 2021. We already get 3 meals a week by mail, so we just chose to use that as an easy way to celebrate. I can remember in 1990 that we had pizza for Thanksgiving dinner, so at least we are home cooking it for the time after mom’s death.

To be fair, in 1990 Mom was still raising 7-, 10-, and 13-year-old boys, so pizza was welcome by us kids.

Being thankful for this family mom maid and fashioned is ever more important now after our loss our leader.

So, I hope all readers, and even those who don’t, have a great family time with loads of tasty, yummy food and laughs around the dinner table.
