The last year of my life helps me really agree 100% with you Kris. I had a plan for working teaching at a local high school where my Mom taught for 20 years.
I was going to get out before the kids drove me crazy and try to relocate to Oakland, California. I had some growing connections out there. All I need was a Texas teacher’s certification and a few years of local experience. Then I could test for Cali and move to the bay in a much more agreeable place. That all sounded great until 2 weeks before I took my Texas social studies teaching exam. I had some issues with my sight and went to an optometrist to see what was going on.
My vision was like a flickering camera and I had significantly worse sight than weeks before. The optometrist check out my eyes and all look okay physically. My sight was twice as bad as my last check up 3 months before. He told be to go to the ER since he thought it had to be neurological. Fast forward 3 weeks and a spinal tap later and I officially had relapse and remitting multiple sclerosis.
So, yeah plans can go wrong in seconds. Sorry for running off at the mouth. Great post!
